Lifetime 20-Pack Raised Garden Beds - No Vinyl Enclosures (860065)

The Lifetime raised garden bed will not rot or attract insects like raised garden beds made out of timber because it is constructed of polyethylene plastic. It also has rust-resistant zinc-coated screws. This kit includes two 4x4 garden beds that can be stacked to make one extra-deep bed, or used separately to make two individual garden boxes. The sidewalls are created with four interlocking panels. The bottom of each garden box is created by putting down a weed barrier (not included) to prevent an invasion of weeds and underground pests. With raised beds you'll have the advantage of being able to customize the soil to your plants rather than being at the mercy of the natural soil conditions in your area. The soil in traditional gardens becomes compacted from being walked upon. This slows drainage and necessitates rototilling. The soil in your raised beds will not be walked upon and therefore remains loose and well-drained. Plant placement is done differently with square foot gardening and allows you to grow five times as many plants because it only uses 1/5 of the ground space which is required for traditional row gardens. Another convenient feature is that the interlocking panel design allows you to easily relocateyour raised garden boxes if you desire to change up your landscaping design. *These plastic garden bed panels contain no BPA.

Note:Each garden bed will require a Weed Barrier to create the bottom of the bed, and 16 cubic ft of Soil Mix. Soil Mix should be three equal parts of vermiculite to retain moisture, peat moss to make the soil light and loose for drainage, and compost to provide the nutrients your plants need to thrive.
