1. The umbrella has metal ribs versus the flimsy fiber ribs
2. The cushion and head pillow are combined
3. The feet of the main structure is better
4. The cushion canvas attaches to the back of the chair, does not require the threading from the previous version (should be made clearer on the assembly instructions)
5. The bolts are of the correct length and allow better tightening
Negative
1. The chair hangs higher above ground, more difficult to get in. I will have to add a chain to lower it
2. The rope is thinner and tends to kink
3. The padding of the cushion is a solid piece, thinner and less comfortable than the previous stuffed version
4. The umbrella is permanently fixed; the easy removal of the previous version was good during high winds
5. The attachment of the chair with two metal plates welded to the tubes are not parallel and is not esthetic
6. Not enough washers (2 missing when following the instructions)
7. The back of the chair hangs closer to the supporting tubes; this results in more bumps
