Water is easier to manage as far as filling, moving, and draining the base. Sand provides more rigidity, is more suitable if you want your system to withstand higher winds, aggressive play, and leaking. (System has been tested to withstand up to 40 mph winds when properly filled with water). This system features a spring-back Slam-It rim and a Quick Adjust II height adjustment mechanism which allows you to easily raise or lower the backboard with a broomstick or pole. The Lifetime Courtside basketball hoop is built with top-quality materials and innovative design features. The 48" shatter proof backboard is made of Makrolon polycarbonate, making it virtually unbreakable, and fade resistant graphics.
